I was going through some images for my body of work from the Kimberley and I decided to have a play with some abstract images I had taken. I have been researching the geology of the landscape and this one lent itself to describing how the land moves and morphs through by the Earth’s forces.

I find it interesting to observe how an image – although not executed very technically proficiently, can still remind me of that feeling of acceleration and increasing intensity of noise and vibration as we gain speed on the tarmac before we lift off into the air.

Life has been hectic… and my image a day is just going to be an image when I can. I thought about having a look at some photographs I took recently when I flew to melbourne. I found this one interesting.

I just haven’t been able to keep up with my image a day. I should rename my site – “image a day when I can” … so more images when I can

flight to melbourne at 5am… into the sky

This isn’t a very technically adept photograph, but it reminds me of the extraordinary sky one day, where for about 15 minutes the sky was like a solid sheet rainbow. Truly mesmerising and quite spectacular. I only wished I could have done it justice through my photographs, but I just spent my time looking at it without the camera in front of my eye, and really…. my photographs are just a memory of my experience which was truly humbling.

I didn’t take any photos today so I visited my clouds folder which always gives me inspiration!
